Stayed in primitive campsite, perfect setting. Great location by the lake. A raging storm briefly pummeled us with rain & lightening then passed just as quickly leaving us with a beautiful sunset. Love coming here. The shower facilities were easy to access and there are...More

We are traveling across the country tent camping with our 2 dogs. The lake looked beautiful online and the campground seemed pretty easy so we booked online. The lake itself was pretty and the campground was in a good location. BUT, I really think this...More

2nd largest lake in NM. Offers numerous types of fish to fish for. Boating, jet skiing, tubing, skiing and other water activities. Holidays are extremely busy (thousands) but it is always a good time.

We live in the area and spend a ton of time at the lake in the summer. You can find plenty to do here, swimming, fishing, hiking trails, camping, etc.

(Got cut off). Parent supervision is not an option - there are no lifeguards. Would suggest wearing an old pair of sneakers in lake to protect feet from rocks and foreign objects. Bring plenty of sunscreen.

Oh yes. Many with view of lake too. You may want to think about calling ahead to reserve a spot.
Is it necessary to reserve a tent camping spot during the week?

Response from David D | Reviewed this property |
When we visited (October) there were tons of open spots. My guess is no need to reserve.
