It's not often you get to visit a beautiful church like this and have it all too yourself. The church was beautifully decorated for Easter with spring flowers everywhere.

When we travel we see a lot of churches. This was our fifth on this trip. This is a large version of Spanish-style architecture, in contrast to the more classic churches in Santa Fe (Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi and Loretta Chapel). In fact, it's probably much more like the early 18th century ruins of the convento at... More

We didn't spend long her but took some great photos of the outside of this church. We went inside but photography is prohibited in there. It is a typical old adobe Catholic Church.

Located not to far outside Taos village, this church is surrounded by shops and places to eat (was sorry we couldn't stay for lunch)..... it is a picturesque church that is still in use today. In fact, there was a funeral going on when we came, so did not get to see inside. Would definitely go back and see it... More

I enjoyed my visits to the St. Francis Cathedral in Santa Fe and to the Sanctuaria in Chimayo far more. There was just "more" to both of those places and I felt a greater spiritual connection there. However, this is a pretty church with a long history and worth a quick stop if one is in the area.

Such a beautiful church, there is hardly any wonder why the likes of Ansel Adams and Georgia O'Keeffe were inspired to try to capture it with their own interpretations. This was a must see for me and I was happy to sit and relish being alone in this peaceful spot.

We have stopped at this mission several times. We were lucky enough to visit once when the parishioners were putting new adobe on the mission. They report that they do this once per year...on the church and garden walls. The inside of the church is simple but beautiful. There is ample parking for visitors and there is a small but... More

If you love taking pictures of churches, you'll love this old church. I went to English mass on Sunday at 10:00am.

This is such a beautiful church, and it has such a great history. Not to mention it is so cool to see a church that has been painted by Georgie O'Keefe and photographed by Ansel Adams, among many other artists. It was built in the 1700's and is simply beautiful. You can't take pics inside, but go inside and look... More
