A great learning experience about Kit Carson. Excellent exhibit, plus short movie about his life. This will flesh out what we didn't get in High School American History class.

The tour and experience of visiting Kit Carson's home is amazing! The old frontier West has come alive for me in more ways than I can imagine. The story of Kit Carson from his childhood (growing up near Daniel Boone and his family) and the...More

We finally visited this litte Museum and several trips to Taos over the years. It is the actual home of Kit Carson, making it very poignant when visualizing how the little inside space was utilized by the family.

This was my second or third visit and continued to learn about this Mountain Man. Great video and excellent exhibits. Well worth the time, great gift shop with excellent books. They can also give directions to his nearby grave. Best parking for the cemetery is...More

Needless to say, those days out of the 1800's can just stay there. It was a really rough environment back then. The display's were really nice and one can really walk through a real adobe home. The wall's are very thick. One can easily see...More

This is a nice tour to take. It gives you a very good idea of what is was like in the "wild" west an he hardships people had to endure.

I knew little about kit Carson. It was edifying to learn about his life and experiences. He was quite a man. The home is small and gives goo inside into how the early settlers really lived.

The museum itself has only a couple of rooms. The outside of the place is almost as interesting as the inside (and you don't have to pay to walk around outside). A nice video and some exhibits, but I wouldn't pay any more than the...More

Visited Taos quickly on a Sunday PM, but for this reason. Glad I did, very humbling to be among his things. Felt the same way among Gen. Phil Sheridan's things. Each man saw a side of the Indian campaigns of the 1860s, but Carson refused...More

Parking was a tough find while we visited the area, not that it does not exist. There is no direct parking for the museum. However, we were able to park in an open restaurant parking lot at no charge just a block or so to... More
