Small, and the collection isn't great, but if you're into art, you're going to go to every museum you ever come across, so go. The studio has a video playing that's very informative.

Great collection in a unique environment. Fechin's home, furnishings and carved woodwork detail are outstanding as is his studio. Scale is perfect for an hour visit since there are so many other activities to pursue in Taos. High recommend!

The Taos Art Museum, once the home of Russian artist Nicolai Fechin, is perhaps the top art attraction in Taos, both for its rotating exhibitions of Taos School paintings and also for the artistry of the interior decor. Nicolai Fechin was the son of a...More

We visited the Taos Art Museum at the home of the Russian-American artist Fechin. The access to the house and the studio were unprecedented. Seeing original Fechin paintings next to the house that the artist himself built would enough, but the tour (Friday afternoons at...More

My wife and I visited here today and thoroughly enjoyed the art museum. The highlight for me was looking at all the hand carved doors, columns, and furniture. The Russian painter, Fechin, seemed to hand carve every item in his home. Frankly, it was pretty...More

This museum is worth visiting for the building alone, though the admission price is a bit steep. You take your chances with the rotating displays, but that is true at any museum or gallery. What spoiled our visit was an insulting staffer at the front...More

Again, another Rough Guide recommendation. The place was the home of Russian artist and woodcarver Nicolai Fechin. Good art from the Taos Society of artists, but the woodcarvings by Fechin himself are exquisite. Good gift shop.

The house itself was so amazing of extraordinary craftsmanship. Exquisite woodwork, carved doors and banisters. I would love to live here. Wait until you see the gorgeous window in the upstairs bedroom. My husband liked the art since a lot of it spoke to the...More

The Fetchin house is quite interesting if you haven't been there. The art display was rather limited and we have seen better there. Fairly expensive admission and the studio wasn't open.
