The wine tasting was a good experience and the ladies were very good explaining the different wines and ports. Landed up buying a number of bottles. Then, Stoepsit Bistro adjoining is very very basic but oh my word what delicious food. My husband enjoyed the karoo lamb chops and I enjoyed the meat platter with the cheeses, red onion relish,... What a lovely surprise. We could taste wine for free. Not in the way we did at Fairview but one only wanted to taste the wine. After that we went for lunch at the restaurant next to the wine tasting room. Stoepsit was an eye opener. Plain but what a meal. We had a Cape Portuguese white wine from Boplaas... More

Stopped by on 3rd March to stretch our legs on a long drive and glad we did - a surprisingly large range of red wines, ports, brandies and so on. The reserve port was our favourite - would have bought one if it wouldn't have sent us way over our booze duty free allowance. The vineyard grows a range of... More

We stopped for an impromptu tasting at this lovely place. We tried, tested and bought a selection of wines and Port. The wine and one bottle of Port did not make it back to England but were enjoyed on our stay in South Africa. However we did keep one for enjoyment at some point in the not too distant future.... The port...what more can I say? The collection that Boplaas has, is amazing and has grown so much since we were last there. With our wedding, we ordered the smaller bottles of port for gifts for the men, It was a hit!

I walked in thinking I would grab a bottle of the famous port and leave, but boy oh boy did I get more than I bargained for. We come past here often when travelling from the western Cape, it's great for 'stocking' up on wines and port for the rest of the year. and now has Craft Gin :-D The new bistro needs a little work, food was good but needs a little more decor and a little music to create a nicer atmosphere
