Visiting Fort Totten is like stepping back in time to small town U.S.A. with large homes sprawling lawns and a Fort with a beautiful water view. The roads are great for walking and bike riding. There are a few utility cars from agencies such as FDNY, that also use the grounds. This is a multi use park: swimming, art exhibits,... More

It's an interesting area that doesn't seem like it should be within New York City. It's got a lot going on, between the park area, the military area, the FDNY area, and the NYPD area. It has great views of the water and Throgs Neck Bridge. There is a ton of history to the place. It's nice to explore, jog,... More

The park is clean, peaceful, the views are wonderful so bring your camera and get nice pictures of the bay. The pool reaches maximum capacity almost every time, no food is allowed in the pool area. I like the fact that picnics or large parties (other than groups playing sports) are not allowed, this keeps the park clean. Many buildings... More

It is a pleasant place to take a walk. Parking is available just outside by the water. We walked around toward the water, and then made a left turn which would have included the entire water area including the historic fort. There weren't a lot of signs or maps, and there was a entrance forbidden sign on Shore Road, so... More

This is a fairly nice play for a walk or biking. It is usually very quiet and have a nice water view. There is a pool that is open during the summer.

Quiet but not empty. You are definitely safe and the base/park are kept tidy. Beautiful views of the bay and park. Great feeling of history and present-day local government in motion.

I went with the family here to explore and take some beautiful pictures. You can check out the Fort that was once under water, very interesting and beautiful view on the top of the Fort.

Since I am a senior citizen and "need my space" esp. in a pool, I wouldn't recommend this pool. It was extremely crowded and too many kids splashing all around. It would be good if they have a particular time for adults to go swimming by themselves and vice-versa.

I visited the park and it's beautiful bring your Camera. It's go to go biking and it has a lot of Bldgs like give you a sense of an open space museum. Pletty of green good area to have a picnic and the view of the bridge is amazing at sun set. Place to go and spend a full day.... More

I used to go to fort totten park for many years and was sad when it closed a couple of years ago for renovation. I'm now thrilled that it's reopened with more parking space and decent restrooms (they used to have the smelly mobile ones only). The park is ideal for an evening stroll, jogging, biking, skateboarding, dog walking, you... More
