Wow, Man; this was a super groovy museum! It was all about the '60s--the good and the bad--with a separate exhibit predominately about the history of, and happenings at Woodstock. A photographer tells the stories of the news of the times. I found it interesting that some of this news is again prevalent (Cuba, Civil Rights); "what goes around, comes... More

It is one of those bucket list place to visit. The weather was miserable, so imagine what it was when the rains came. The museum and the staff were great. Everyone remembers Woodstock but don't realize the concert was held here.

The museum is located in the Bethel Woods Arts Center, a gorgeous facility way out in the middle of nowhere but well worth the trip. The exhibits are interesting and informative, placing the epic Woodstock concert in the context of history, current events, and music as a tool for social change. Even if you were not of that era, it... More

Such a nice museum. It is very much away in the countryside, but it is worth it. The drive is also very nice, through the Catskills. The museum has a variety of exhibits and placards that detail Woodstock, music of the era, Civil Rights, and Vietnam. I totally felt that after visiting I understood my "hippie" mother much better. Great... More

Brought it all back! You can overlook the original stage site and walk down the road to "the lake"! Made me feel a lot older!!

The museum is everything you ever wanted to know about Woodstock. There is a magic school bus in the museum and movies playing in many different rooms. Many pictures displayed. Love the room with the screen on the ceiling and you sit on bean bags!

Not much singular to recommend. The place has a broad overview of a (perhaps?) overdone history. Some relatively entertaining photos and such, but without a particular scholarship.

We went to the museum after the Neil Young concert, and it was nothing like we expected at all. My husband and I were expecting way more to look at like a typical museum, rather than just a bunch of informational signs as you go along. It was extremely disappointing. I could've easily found a website with all of the... More

Made me wish I was old enough to be at the original. Great museum that made you feel like you were there in 1969. Janis Joplin, Hendrix, Keith Moon....
