Le Père Mahieu is a traditional cider farm, located near from Les Pieux, on the road linking Barneville-Carteret to Cherbourg. For optimum quality, our orchards are conducted in organic agriculture. The guided visit is free (for individuals). You will lead the press of th 30's, the aging cellar of Calvados and alambic, to finish by a free tasting or our products : apple juice, cider, pommeau, cider vinegar, Calvados. You can see the orchard located about 500m by foot or car.

Wonderful tour if a Cidrerie and tasting.

Excellent tour and the Cider was fabulous. Very friendly and passionate guide. Wish I could purchase in the USA. The guide spoke great English. Organic and local favorite.

We visited recently and had a thoroughly enjoyable tour around the site, seeing how the progression of apples to cider to calvados and pommeau took place. Particularly interesting was the distillation still that was built in 1940, used to make the Calvados. After the tour, generous samples of all the products .... Very nice ! We have a number of... We visited this place on recommendation from the B&B, where we stayed. The owners are very friendly and tried to explain everything what we needed to know about making cider and calvados. Unfortunately our french is very bad but the owners did the best. By the end of the tour a lady who spoke english came to rescue but next... More

I found this place while planning our tour de France and put it in my Garmin route to go to. Well, Garmin got mixed up and took us 15 km north. Almost gave up, but with the help of a friendly local we got back on track and found our way. Glad we did. Vincent was there and they were... More

This cidrerie was recommended to me by an expert on the Tripadvisor forum for the area and so we went along to see what it was like. We had a very friendly guide who showed us round the whole farm and explained the process of how the cider, apple juice and Calvados was made. It was clear how passionate she... More
