My girl friend and I went while our husbands were spending the day in the HOF. We really enjoyed ourselves. Went on a very informative tour of the house, walked to the wooden bridge and drove around the park.Beautiful area, worth the short drive around the lake.

Excellent ghost tour with a wonderful narrator! Get a spot on the tour before it's too late. Lite refreshments are served in the admin as you wait to be led into the grounds and into the mansion by a period-dressed tour guide. With a flair for storytelling and factual recollection, I recommend this event to everyone who likes candlelit Halloween... More

We visited Cooperstown and stopped in to see Hyde Hall. The hall has spectacular views of Ostego Lake and the tour was interesting. For history buffs it is a worthwhile look into the past.

Our tour guide, Larry, was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. This mansion is not fully restored but a work in progress. It was clearly a gem in its day and I would love to go back in 5 or 10 years to see what's changed. The view of the lake is wonderful and it makes you wish... More

This is a very historic home. It was established by George Clarke, an Englishman who wanted a good view, and at the time it was built, it was the largest of its kind in America. It sits right by Otsego Lake, so the view is amazing. The renovation is a work in progress, and the tour guides are very knowledgeable... More

Hyde Hall is a hidden architectural and historic gem. Our fabulous guide brought the history of the house and its family to life. A wonderful aspect of the visit is to see the restoration work in progress. My last visit was almost forty years ago when the house was a virtual ruin. How wonderful to see it come back to... More

Really enjoyed Elizabeth's tour, which included not only lots of factual information, but also stories of the people who lived there for 5 generations.

The history of Cooperstown is woefully incomplete without mention of a British family named Clarke which helped develop the town and area at the beginning. They built the Hyde Hall and for multiple generations maintained it and added to it. The renovation is under way but there is a wealth of completed renovation already that allows one to get a...
