Dunkirk Lighthouse

Beautiful area with great historical displays on the grounds. Wonderful views of Lake Erie. Ghost tours available. They say the lighthouse is haunted!

The gentleman who gave us our tour was very chatty and knowledgeable. We visited on a very clear day and so when we got to the top of the lighthouse, we had an excellent view. The main floor of the house was more interesting to me, but others in our tour group really were excited by the upstairs rooms dedicated... More

Loved this stop! Our tour guide "Dave" was so informative and we learned a lot of lighthouse information as well as local history. Well worth your time. They also have military rooms that you could spend as much or as little time you'd like. I couldn't believe it but they even have a actual "torpedo". It might be small but... More

The trip to the Lake Erie region was all about lighthouses and this lighthouse did not disappoint. Well kept grounds, easy to get to, and perfect hostesses. The lighthouse visitor center was getting a new roof, but the shop was still open. If you are in the area, it is a must see. Lake views are great too.

WOW! What an amazing experience this was. We was given a tour by a young girl. She was amazing. I can't even get my kids to read a history book and this young lady was giving a very informative tour. Me and my wife learned a lot from her and we were very impressed with her knowledge. The view from... More

My wife love lighthouses, so I wanted to take her to see this one. We were not disappointed. There is a great history behind the lighthouse, but we didn't realize that it was still a working lighthouse. The one thing I will say, make sure you have enough time to see everything. We didn't see everything and will be going... More

Learned things during the tour here that I never knew about this area and I grew up here. Especially interesting are the stories the guides tell about the lighthouse keeper's ghost who continues to haunt the site!
