This is another hidden gem favorite of mine for camping. The Good: This county park is a hidden gem. History (Grey Gardens family orig. ownership of the land) and natural beauty (Long Island Sound) abound. You can camp here for about $40 (give or take) a night depending on the campsite area and busy /on / off season rates. Campsites... More

We were enjoying a peaceful nature hike through the forest on the winding trials when 5 wild turkeys ran across our path. The kids loved it! We even had time to snap a few pics as the birds kept crossing our path throughout the 3 mile hike. Be sure to bring bug spray or a sweatshirt, especially in the fall... More

Thinly thing you might hear is a seagull or a fish jump. Oh, the lapping of the waves. My S.O. and I have come to love anchoring off this park for a night away from Sag Harbor and the craziness of The Hamptons. The place is untouched. We hope the lighthouse restoration does happen but even in its current state... More

Great camping spot (Site 908). It was quiet and peaceful. Close to bathroom, shower station, charging station, and beach. Great place for hiking, fishing, swimming, and sun bathing. Short and sweet two nights and three days stay. No tick bites. Must have~ bug spray. Must do~ roast marshmallows. Enjoy!

We had two days of tent camping that were fabulous!!! The lake is beautiful for canoeing! We took out one of their canoes and had lunch on the lake!! We also took our truck right on to the beach but you have to have an outer beach pass for this. The camp site we were at was just a seconds... More

Very nice wooded campground close to the bay, This campground reminds me alot of the ones on Cape cod. We stayed at site 102 which is the very last campsite closest to the beach! Just a 5 min. walk pretty much and your on the bay side beach. Beach is very rocky though and the water is ok.. Lots and... More

We went camping here in June of 2015. I knew there would be ticks and I thought we were prepared but I didn't realize the place was infested with lone star ticks. Lone star ticks are very aggressive and can sense your carbon monoxide...they seek you out! Within two hours of being in the park I was bitten. At the... More

We are so happy some places do stay the same and keep their peaceful beauty. We do not camp here but come to see the beach and sunset. Yes, there are ticks and bugs so be prepare for the nature.. So nice to see families enjoy themselves. Great place.
