Even without being drawn in by the Mark Twain signs for his burial spot, I knew I had to stop here the moment I saw the gorgeous life size elk while driving past. Lots of signage if you are looking for a particular grave. Was being cleaned up for the spring when I was in, so it was a bit... More

What a gorgeous cemetery! From landscape to old tombstones, we were awed by this beautiful place. Mark Twain's grave was easy to find since the signs were everywhere the moment you go though the gate. Must see if you are near by.

We were at once amazed at the beauty and size of this cemetery. It being winter and some snow on the ground there was also a lot of mud on the roads. We easily found the gravesite of Mark Twain. There are signs to follow to take you right to it. We have never seen a cemetery so long. The... More

The final resting place of Mark Twain, Ernie Davis, Hal Rouch, Abolitionists, and more. Statuary, mausoleums, and landscape that is remarkable.

A very nice cemetery where Mark Twain is apparently buried. Finding his grave was easy from the entrance and the place is nicely maintained for how old it is. Very peaceful and felt very safe to be walking around.

This is one of the places that you won't see on the Elmira trolley tour, but it's worth visiting on your own if you have an hour to spare. It's a beautiful old cemetery with tall trees and graves dating back to the 1800's. And Civil War buffs should not pass up the National Cemetery next door, where many Confederate... More

Any fan of Mark Twain (are there any non fans?) needs to make the pilgrimage. Beautiful cemetery, with well marked directions, and a small explanation of who's buried along with him.

An eye opening for our teenage daughter. She was amazed how older monuments continued to remain in good condition despite their age.

Found out about this accidentally from Michael at the Holiday Inn. You can EASILY spend a day there. Soaked in history, very beautiful, and saw many people walking their dogs there.
