Beautiful location and always helpful staff make it a great place to stay at the condo or to rent one of the many types of boats. Not a better place on Lake George!

I've used Dockside Marina since the new ownership took over. From winterizing to to spring commissioning, to minor and major repairs, to rescuing me and my family when my boat went dead in the middle of Lake George. They've always been fair priced and reliable.

My experience at dockside landing marina was the worst, we will never be back nor do we recommend it for anyone.

For those who don’t want to read the entire thing. Here’s the short version; The owner is an extremely rude and disrespectful person; terrible customer service.

Our boat was not fixed the 1st time and when given back was beyond filthy, the second time, repairs back to back since it still didn’t work after the 1st time; I was told by the owner that my boat is, and I quote “a piece of junk.” Needless to say, I will never go back.

Full detailed story.

My boat had stopped running in the southern part of Lake George and we had it towed to dockside landing marina. We dock our boat up there and wanted to give them the business. While they had it, they had found a few more issues and advised we have them taken care of while it was there, which we did. The boat was finished within the week which was great as we did not expect to have the boat back so soon. We were told to call 1.5 hrs. before getting there and they would have our boat in the water and ready, so we did. We arrive and the boats not in the water, no big deal as Scott, (the owner) says it’ll just be a few minutes we have some paper work to do anyways. My wife pays for the bill of the repairs of $820 and at this time, she is not aware that we should be receiving a work order or paperwork which Scott never gave us. We then wait 1 hour, and the boat finally shows up; we were annoyed but not a big deal. They take the boat off the trailer; it immediately Does Not start. They look at a few things and finally get it running and pull it to the dock and walk away from us. So, my wife and I get to the boat and it is beyond filthy; grease everywhere, oils rings, pine needles, dirt and even card board boxes on the floor from parts that they had replaced. I am very upset at this point as I felt like it was completely disrespectful to treat my property like this and it felt like a slap in the face. My wife and I talk for a minute and decide we just want to get out in the water and have a good day and that we will have it cleaned. I take the boat out and get about 100ft from the dock and it dies. I am now just floating there. My wife has left and at this point has returned to see me just sitting there. She informs the dock hands and they’re just about to tow me back in as I got it started. I was able to turn it around and it died again. I continued to do this until I got back to the dock. At the dock, I am greeted by a very nice dock hand and explained the situation to him, and my wife slips in btw just out of curiosity, after boats are done being worked on, is it normal for them to come back looking like this? With a look on his face he says did it not come to us like this? “No, it did not.” Still with the shocked look on his face he apologized and said absolutely not, so he grabbed another guy and they generously cleaned the boat for us on the hottest day of the year (all while we were waiting for the mechanic/tech to come to us). I was very appreciative, so we tipped them $20 as it is not their job to do this. A tech finally arrived, and we spoke to him about everything up to this point. He said I could take it and he could show me how to “quick shift it”. I told him I did not want to take it and do that, I just wanted it to run right. So, he said we would have to talk to Scott (the owner). When Scott arrived, the tech explained everything that had happened thus far about 10 feet away from us. We were thinking Scott was going to come over and talk to us about the next steps, so we waited. They finished talking and they both jumped in his truck and left, not just to do a simple task but actually ended leaving the property altogether. We waited another 15 minutes or so and he did not return. We run down the road quick and return 5-10 minutes later and he still has not returned. At this point, the afternoon is almost gone and we are very frustrated at this point, so we go in and talk to a young girl at the desk to explain we know it has nothing to do with her but we need the boat fixed as it is still tied to their dock and that we want them to take it back and fix it, so we leave. Fast forward mid-week; we get an update saying the carburetor needs to be cleaned; they clean the carb and it still is not running; so, they look further and find it needs a distributor cap. We are told the boat is done by the following weekend. We call 2 hrs before going up (3hr round trip for us btw). On this heads-up call, they say they will have the boat in the water. We get there and it is still not there. We finally get a chance to talk to Scott after waiting around and are able to go over everything from the past two weeks. Every comment he made was disrespectful and had attitude. We mentioned the filthy and disrespect given to our boat in which he responds how am I supposed to know the condition of it when it comes in (both my wife and I take pride in our boat). To which we made the point, no matter what, it certainly does not have grease all over it, oil rings, and garbage such as card board boxes to the parts that were replaced. We shared that we were unhappy that the boat was not in the water at this point because a lot of time has gone by and we made the heads up call as they ask and at this time, he said “well I could take it off in the middle of the field and you can figure out how to get it.” Also, within his disrespectful comments he has the audacity to say, “well you brought me a piece of junk”. My boat is not a piece of junk but regardless, I don’t care what it is or what condition it is, you don’t say things like this to customers that could offend so many people; someone spent their hard earned money on it and it’s their property that they enjoy; treat it with respect! After everything is all said and done, we pay the bill ($216)as we are threatened he will leave it in a field, so he goes to get the boat. The mechanic takes it for a quick spin and brings it back to the dock. It is now running good. But again, the boat is completely filthy with grease and oil rings and yet again needs to be cleaned. I will NEVER return, nor do we recommend anyone to go to dockside landing for anything.

My family and I wanted to Kayak on the lake, but were a little afraid to be down south with the crowds. This was a terrific location with very little traffic. We rented 4 Kayak's for may family with 3 teens and went out on the water. It was good equipment, and the owner charged a great price. Glad we went this far north. It was a quick drive to see Ticonderoga afterwards.

I only wish I had discovered this place before the last day of our trip! We had no boat and no waterfront rental, and were bored with the little roped off beaches in town. The best swimming is on the islands, and we had no way to get out there. We didn't want to rent a motor boat because the lake is full of submerged rocks and sandbars, and we were afraid of the financial risk of damaging a boat. Then I noticed that Dockside Marina is very close to the Waltonian Islands, which have day use picnic areas. Close enough to paddle to for just about anyone, even my 70 year old mother. So we rented a couple of kayaks and paddled out to the islands (it only took about 10 minutes), easily parked the boats, and spent the day picnicking and swimming at Asas Island. It was so beautiful! We had an amazing time and I just wish I'd known about it earlier in the week - we'd have spent many more days there.

Dockside was really easy-going and it was no problem at all to rent there. They gave us everything we needed and the whole transaction was very comfortable and quick. They even have plenty of parking.

This was our first time out on a boat and Dockside Landing Marina did not disappoint!! The staff was friendly and accommodating!!! From the initial call to make the reservation until the time we left, Stephanie, Taylor and Scotty were outstanding! They took the time to explain everything in detail. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great day on Lake George!

Big thanks to Stephanie who coordinated with Scott to let me and my long distance swimming buddies launch from the boat launch and park in the upper lot. We had a great day, thanks to Dockside Landing and the considerate, thoughtful staff.

We rented from Dockside today. We rented for a half day but they were flexible if we opted for a full day. The weather was beautiful and the kids (ages 2,5,7) had a great time. We were checking out island camping when we hit rocks and unfortunately broke our prop. We immediately called Dockside. They were so responsive and reassuring. We are lunch at Algonquin in Bolton Landing while we waited for a new prop. Turns out, it was more damage than anticipated so we had to get a tow back.
Now, you may think that this unfortunate accident would ruin our day, but it didn't. We wished we could have seen more of the lake but what we did see was beautiful and prior to the "incident", it was relaxing.
What made things better was the staff. Jesse and Taylor were great with the kids and so nice. When we got back to the marina, the owner was so kind and understanding.

Today was a bust for us, but we plan to come back to the area. When we do, we will rent from Dockside for sure.

Please note: they are in Hague on Lake George NOT in Lake George Village. If north on the lake or near, rent at Dockside. This side of the lake is calmer, less crowded and beautiful.
