Great place to visit to get a feel for real Gambian life. Despite quoted concerns about being hassled we had no issues and thoroughly enjoyed the sights..

We shopped at the Bakau market whilst on a self catering 10 day holiday. The fish bought was fabulous - fresh and really good value. The guys working in the market really friendly - and pricing seemed fair.
