At the great cave of the Northeast, an elevator takes you 156’below ground. The doors open into a prehistoric underground cavern 6,000,000 years in the making! Trained tour guides help negotiate the cave and teach about its magnificent natural features. Back on the surface, mine for gemstones at Howe Caverns Mining Co. Beginning summer 2011, enjoy the first phase of Howe High Adventures—featuring ropes courses, climbing walls, zip lines and more!

Great tour, enjoyable people and scenery. Great fun for the family, a real learning experience. Wasn’t as chilly as people previously told me.

I toured the caves with my mother and my two boys (ages 9 and 6). Very informative tour, neat for the kids too! They loved it! The fudge for sale at the gift shop was yummy! Also the aged cheese was delish!

When our original plans fell through, I suddenly read that Howe's Cavern was nearby (had vaguely heard of it, but was never sure where it was). Debated whether to go or not. $75 not cheap for a family of 4, and was wondering if any...More

Located near Albany but a little bit off the beaten path in a rural area of farms and woods. We came around noon on a Sunday and waited only 15 minutes before we were taken on the "basic" tour, myself and my young children, only...More

We decided to give this a try, and we're so glad we did. We arrived just before opening to try and beat some of the crowd, and got on the first tour. Our guide Becca made it fun and interesting. The caverns are quite impressive...More

Expecting a cavern with rock formations? You will be disapointed. For $25/person you get a a tour down a cave to a boat ride at the end and back. Overrated. Other tours available if you are willing to crawl in tight spaces and pay much...More

It's a really cool cave. Really. Great formations. Underground river. Going through the last section of S turns was awesome. But tour guide Sam has to do a better job. He is young and has no enthusiasm for the job. It's like he was reading...More

I live in NYC and we drove to Howe Caverns; I wish I could be helpful, but don't know the answer to your question. Either rent a car or call up Howe Caverns number and ask about transportation from Albany to Howe Caverns.
