I only gave one star because I had to. My campsite,#4, was listed as having shade. Yet there were no trees. In reality it was an open field with no privacy. The fire pit was located within 6ft of the next sites parking spot so you had a massive pickup truck looming over you while you attempted to enjoy your fire. No access to the beach from the campground. Had to walk quite a distance. Showers only had cold water. And to add to the pain if you only wanted one nights stay you were forced to pay for two. What an expensive unpleasant experience.

I was sad to see the bathhouse looking so outdated and run down. Does not look as though it’s been upgraded since it was built in the early 1960’s. The bathroom was very dirty. We are not totally over a pandemic and a NY State park that charges $7.00 to get in has filthy rest rooms. The changing rooms were locked up. I looked through the locked up gate to changing rooms and it looked all over grown with tall weeds. Just sad like the aftermath of Chernobyl. Beach wasn’t too bad and there were life guards. Parking lots are going to pot. I would not recommend going there with your family.

Be wary of the back nine and buy extra frisbees, I lost a lot back there. During summer peak time they charge you but off-peak season it's free. Do not do the Disc Golf Course you will lose discs around the back nine...

The grounds coming in are nice and well groomed. The shoreline looks like a dumping ground. Sad. Parking not so good

small state park campground although the park is large- beach, playgrounds, nice nature center. Shower house was clean. we just stopped for an overnight stay while traveling. We did see two bald eagles fly very close to use while we were at our campsite in the morning. Also lots of monarch butterflies.

There is nothing much to see there except the small beach. However, the calm atmosphere with shade trees around provides a soothing ambiance. Great place do nothing and get perked up.

Very nice park and beach located on Lake Erie. Park has lots of space for people to sit around at tables, cook their meals on the grill or just enjoy green grass. Lots of space for kids to play
Beach is stone/ sand but again plenty of space to enjoy. Water is clear and once you walk in far enough in the swimming area, the bottom of the lake is mostly sand.

Lifeguard on duty. Entry to the park is $7 per day per car. You can leave and re- enter as long as you keep the receipt.

Another one of my favorites for camping. It's not very large only two loops with electric and water spigots. Other loop is tents. Nice beach. Would be nice if they would pave a little bike path type short cut from between the campground office to the beach parking lot. Would make it an easier bike ride. This year the ground between there was too wet to ride on . Be advised if you have a big rig or travel trailer site 11 in the 50 amp loop and the one directly across from it has a ditch and make for maneuvering very difficult. Otherwise love it and we will be back!

We camped here for a weekend with other family in 3 different sites. The waterfront sites do not have water access. There’s a fence blocking the cliff to the water. We stayed in site 33. Would’ve been perfect if our family was on both sides of us.
The beach is a short drive or bike ride away. It’s a pretty beach but no nice sand. Rocky with sticks. They should truck in some nice sand.
There was a lot of mosquitos swarming the sites. I’ve never seen so many. I’m not usually bothered by bugs but they even got me. Make sure you bring spray.
This park is patrolled frequently by park police & police. I like that. There were no loud rowdy noisemakers late at night. There were also no dogs running loose.
There’s a really cool nature center here that is really hands on for kids. The ranger running it was super nice. It’s a hidden gem.
This is really a family oriented campground. Our little ones loved it. I like more rustic quiet campgrounds so probably won’t return here but we had a nice weekend.

I alighted from the bus; unfolded my bike; & went into Evangola [New York] State Park!

Yes, a local bus goes directly to Evangola State Park from Buffalo, New York. The bus route continues to Irving, New York after letting me off at Evangola State Park.

This short three day bicycle tour was accomplished entirely using public ground transportation and my folding bicycle. First I traveled to Buffalo NY from Rochester New York, a distance of ~90 mi./144 km. using a commercial intercity bus. Then I rode the Buffalo area bus No. 76, to Evangola St. Park. This local bus makes 3 afternoon runs to Irving NY from Buffalo. With a total of 5 daily runs from Irving to Buffalo. If you're visiting Buffalo or Niagara Falls it is possible for you to take the bus to the Park & spend the day swimming, hiking, fishing, pheasant hunting in season, or simply enjoying yourself in the outdoors.

I'm trying to do more 2-5 day bicycle tours. This means using either a personal car or public transportation (train, bus) to go to the start location of a bicycle tour. I prefer the public transportation option.

This time I used bus services to begin and end my bicycle tour along the Lake Erie shore (Buffalo, Dunkirk, Lake Erie St. Pk., NY) and then bicycle ~40 mi./64 km. south to the National Comedy Center in Jamestown, NY.

Evangola [New York] State Park is a beautiful well maintained New York State Park with many different facilities.

The beach is clean with wonderful soft sand and a bathhouse. The hiking areas are delightful.

There is a store and restaurant but I did not make use of either facility. These facilities might have been closed for the season by mid-September when I stayed at the Park. Two & a half miles (4 km.) from the Park's campground in Erie Beach, NY there are several restaurants & taverns open late and all year around.

There are yurts including two with a ramp for persons with disabilities to rent; a kids playground; and many other facilities.

Evangola State Park's tent site loop is sufficiently away from the RV/auto sites to not hear the motorized vehicles or see their "electric lights." At Evangola cars are not allowed to be parked at the tent sites. After unloading their car, "tenters" have to park in a designated parking lot. This is an excellent idea. Car lights & motor sounds going through a tent campground can easily disturb sleeping tenters. Tents are not light or sound proof!

My tent site was clean and level with a clean potable (town water) faucet/fountain close by.

The campground bathroom was outstanding.
