Not visible from the landing, but clearly seen from a park a mile or so up-river - or by taking a boat ride. On a small island in the middle of the Hudson River.

A nice way to spend an afternoon. It's a pleasnt boat ride to the light house or houses as they somtimes visit two or three light houses. Its more enjoyable on a nice day as the water is calm and you can sit outside on the boat.

Absolutely stunning. Go at high tide near sunset or sunrise for amazing photo ops. Shoot photos of the train station across the river or the Roundout creek your choice! Very easy paddle from Kingston.

Got a good view of the lighthouse from the Hudson River Cruise ship Rip Van Winkle. Appears to be in good shape.

It's a shame the main road "Roundout landing"doesn't follow the creek all the way, we actually had to do a little trespassing to get a good view at the lighthouse.

Have been travelling around getting photograph's in the Hudson Valley and this is worth the trip. It has a trail to walk and come around the waterfront where old railroad tracks are present and the lighthouse is just so beautiful sitting out in the water with rock paths to and from the house.

We boarded a Hudson Cruise boat at the HRMM and traveled to the mouth of the Rondout Creek to tour the lighthouse. The tour is led by a knowledgable guide who answers questions as well as narrating. Not handicapped accessible due to many stairs.

You have to want to visit this lighthouse. I sits amid the tidal flats so access even at low tide is almost impossible. You can see it pretty well from the park nestled between the co-gen station and the Kingston BMX park on Delaware. Go past the BMX park and go through the wrought iron gate on the right. Take... The lighthouse tour on Rondout Creek and the Hudson River which we did yesterday on a sparkling fall day in the mid-Hudson Valley is an absolute must for anyone who appreciates the history and the beauty of the Kingston area. The 1871 Esopus Meadows Lighthouse has been fully restored and brings mid-19th Century travails on the river to life. While... More
