I am not a very experienced hiker so I loved that Prospect Mtn was able to drive up. It's $10 per car and the views are priceless. We stopped at each one and took pictures and enjoyed the view. The summit is great too, bring a lunch there's lots of picnic tables and some history from the cable cars that... More

Wonderful side trip. The view at the top is fantastic. Near the top you take a shuttle bus from the upper parking lot. Pack a picnic lunch for the summit. Next time we go I am bringing our bikes and driving to the top and coasting down with the kids while the wife follows us down in the car. .... More

Got this place added to our list based on previous reviews in this site and it is really worth visiting. We drive up twice, once in car ($10 charge) and next time by renting the 3 wheel scooter ($5 charge). We liked all three view points. Best place to get the almost areal view of the lake.

I am glad we asked what to do here , A waitress recommended this site. It was a beautiful place to take pictures . 10 dollars per car to go half way up then you catch the shuttle to go the rest of the way. It doesn't seem to high but it is still worth it to me. Be careful... More

Excellent hike. If you hike from the bottom, it's not really "small kid" friendly as the trail goes basically straight up (no switchbacks). Poles are suggested but certainly not necessary. When you get near the top, you could in theory take the bus the rest of the way for a fee (but if you've hiked from the bottom, why would... More

From what I've read most of these reviews only provide how to drive up the mountain and see the views. Below I have listed a few different ways you can see the sites of Prospect Mountain depending upon how much time, how much exercise, or how little money you want to put into the trip. Option 1: FREE - Longest... More

We drive up Prospect Mountain every summer. The views are great and the ride is nice. We always take pictures and enjoy the drive. For ten dollars, it is a great bargain.

We enjoyed the drive up the mountain, entrance fee was a reasonable $10. Several lookouts to stop on the way up. Near the top is a large parking lot, with shuttle busses every 8min to the very top. Optional to take a short hike to the top.

This was a fun way to spend a half day. Nice ride to near the summit with several pull-offs for viewing Lake George. At the top there is a shuttle driving you to the actual summit, with some more views, but the best views are on the drive up. Well worth the $10.00 per car charge by the State of... More

There are a couple overlooks along the way. This is a quick trip up to the top in your car, once there you can park and either hike or take a small bus to the top, they show you a quick video on the way up about the history of the place. I found it neat, but again it is... More
