Adorable place for learning to cross country ski! The cabin in the woods with hot chocolate, waffles, and chili is new, clean, and so cute how you ski up to it.

Any time we get the opportunity we head up to Mt. Van Hoeveberg to cross country ski. It's a great complex, filled with trails for beginners to expert. Very well groomed trails and good sized lodge with a well stocked shop.

This mountain is a good warm up level before tackling the higher ones. It is close to Lake Placid. It has a nice view. Only slighlty less than 3000 feet.
