The trails were well cared for nice and easy. It's more a walk in the woods then a true hike for the real diehards. It would be a great place to take kids or for an inexperienced hiker. There are some nice views of Lake...More

We love this walk any time of year. We took our dog yesterday and the trail was well packed...did not need snow shows or cross country skis. I did have ski poles which helped a bit but were not necessary. Someone had been there on...More

We had a wonderful hike on this trail. It is very well marked, very easy to walk and beautiful. The smell of the outdoors is one of favorites and through the trees, it smells and feels so fresh. We loved it.

The trailhead is just outside the center of the village with a small parking area. There is a sign-in desk with trail maps available. The hiking path is not hilly and fairly flat, but there are many stumps and rocks to walk over. The lakeside...More

Off we went with 3 toddlers in backpacks on a short 15 minutes trail, literally to Lake Placid in Full Fall Foliage! Spectacular, even on a cloudy day. We have brought visitors here many times. This is a great hike for families, elderly, or if...More

We chose this trail for its flatness for a trail run, but there's only a couple miles of trails so it got boring fast. A section of it runs along the lake and there is a dam that you can walk out on and view...More

A series of short trails on the edge of Lake Placid lake. The trails lead to Whiteface Landing which is an old logging dam and is a great spot for a picnic.

Beautiful hike! We decided to check it out while waiting for our boat cruise. Very easy hike for anyone of any age and the views from the lake are amazing!

First let me say that there is a Welcome/Visitor Center in downtown Lake Placid. They are very helpful in recommending trails, and directions. Also, if you go to this link it will give you information on the trail and... More

After reading your review, I am confused as to whether you can swim somewhere along these paths or not?

I believe there are signs saying "no swimming" but I am not positive. There is a dock and the trail is right next to the lake. It is technically private property so please respect the signs.
