The laid back vibe and well - landscaped surroundings dotted with red Adirondack chairs add to the enjoyment of this popular, woodsy course set under the impressive Whiteface Mountain which always seemed to be in view in the distance. While the greens seemed slow, the undulations added to the challenges. Another prime feature of the course is the variety of... More

Carved through the surrounding mountains, this is a very challenging course with narrow fairways and undulating greens. Some of the wholes offer incredible views and the course is in very good condition though somewhat pricey to play. Green fees are normally $100. However, I much prefer this course to the Lake Placid Club. The personnel at the course from the... More

Beautiful flowers everywhere! Improves overall experience. Some narrow fairways provide decent challenge. Greens in great shape. Interesting layout (not just back & forth). Fantastic little restaurant/bar for lunch.

This event was well run and the course was in as good of shape as possible given the very wet conditions. Fairways were wet and the rough was brutal. Greens were slow and a little bumpy. In general, the course is challenging. Fairways are narrow and it does not pay to get greedy. Be patient and you can score.

This golf course in the mountains near Lake Placid was fun to play and the views were great. Hole 6 was our favorite! We also had lunch and drinks at the clubhouse after our round. They do a lovely job there too. I definitely recommend playing here if you are a golfer visiting the area. (A couple guys in our... More

Friendly starter, was able to bring my 6 year old out with me for 9 holes in the morning. Great views from some spots.

Our group of 24 golfers played yesterday morning. The setting is beautiful, and the majesty of the place is simply stunning. The maintenance of the venue leaves something to be desired. The greens in particular were very slow. We realize this had been a very difficult year for greens around the northeast due to the very cold winter temperatures, but... More

This is one of the oldest golf courses in the country and looks it. Let's start with the course. Fairways were very bumpy and in moderate to poor condition. Greens were very slow and some were virtually unplayable with no green. Cart girl was rarely seen and at one point seemed to be hiding in the woods. We only saw... More

Haven't been there this year, but had to put a date for review to be published. We have played here many times. I agree about cost but golf is ridiculously overpriced. I'm a beginner golfer but my boys play and we have played here either while staying in the area or renting at the Whiteface Inn & Resort (which has... More
