Gilbert Lake is a great place for a quick respite or to spend the day. With a lake, picnic areas and hiking trails, it is peaceful and beautiful, clean and friendly. I hope to join the charity trail ride with my horse this year!

A wonderful state park on the northern edge of the Town of Laurens. Picnic areas, lake with swimming beach, boats for rent. Stone cottages built by Civilian Conservation Corps participants during the Great Depression. Open year round, cross country skiing when there is sufficient snow.

Great camping, canoeing, we had a wonderful family reunion! The swimming facilities were easy for both old and young parking could be too far from swimming for some of us but they have a great unloading and loading spot! Also the park management were extremely helpful in making sure everything worked for us! Thank you

Gilbert Lake State park is a relaxing family venue. Beautiful lake for swimming. Nice picnic facilities compete with pavilions, grills and even horseshoe pits. reasonably priced for a NYS State Park. Frisbee Golf course!

Bring your camera and walking shoes. You can stay for a day at the beach or like us, every year we rent a cabin, lots of trails & great swimming all for under $500 per week!! There are many camp & mobile sites to choose from that are a bargain too. Close enough to the city of Oneonta to do... More

This is a hidden gem. Very clean grounds, nice trials, with a large lake and a few ponds in the woods.

This is a beautiful state park with multiple activities available to those who visit. There are many miles of well maintained and varied hiking trails. Each of the trails have interesting features that are very much worth checking out. My personal favorite is the Ice Pond and Twin Fawns loop. (and you can't beat this three mile loop in the... More

This is a state park with an interesting history. There are camping sites and old cabins. They are very old and a bit expensive. Over $120.00 per night. If you want to camp a step above using a tent and money doesn't matter, this place is great. The lake is beautiful but there are numerous rules for its use.

We stayed here for 4 nites during our visit to Cooperstown for Induction Weekend. What a nice quiet campground. Sites are a good size, some with electricity. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The park rangers were visible throughout the day and night. The lake itself was very beautiful. At the beach were facilities from boat rentals, concessions to a... More
