We went to a memorial service here for a friend who was a fly fisherman and museum exhibit designer. Rustic and casual. Lovely grounds, easy to find (and near a brewery!) Stream, meadow, good parking, gift shop, lots of exhibits, and nice people. Strange smell in the main building do the museum... All those old feathers and waders? You get... More

Most interesting museum with a very documented local history of fly fishing, taking into account that the Catskills are the very place in the U.S. where fly fishing was originally developed.

The gift shop has loads of things for all sorts of fishing interests (pins, antique flies, hats, tshirts, books, etc) and... More

The museum is small but has many interesting exhibits, if you are interested in the history of fly fishing. They have exhibits on Leonard fly rods, tying tables for various historic tiers (including Lee Wulff), a section on women fly fishers, and a display of reels throughout history, to name some of the exhibits. A worthwhile stop if you are... More

I was in the area to catch trout on the famous streams and found a few hours slip pleasantly away here. Phenomenal collection of fly fishing memorabilia, equipment and history. Definately worth a stop just across a little bridge over the beautiful and 'open to the public' Willowemoc Creek.
