Went here on a school visit and although it is beautiful it is very claustrophobic for me. I did enjoy the history we learned about the locks though

An excellent way to be introduced to Lockport. We had a wonderful guide but I can't remember her name (AARGH). She was very well versed in the history and folklore of the area. She also was a wonderful promotor of the area and encouraged us...More

Was taken here as a surprise, so had no preparation. Was only told it was a cave and boat ride. Okay, I’ve done a ton of those so imagined a slow stroll in the dark followed by a brief float, also in the dark. I...More

Omg, what a fantastic tour!! As first-time visitors to Lockport, we had no idea of much beyond the fact that there were Erie Canal locks in town. We left knowing a whole lot more! Our wonderful guide, Melissa, knew plenty and shared so much with...More

If you like history this is very interesting. Gives you the history of the canal, how it works and what it took to build. A must see

Adam was our tour guide and not only was he funny, but was very knowledgeable about the history of Lockport. Most of the tour was outside so we were thankful that it was a beautiful Fall day. My husband is a history buff and really...More

This was an interesting tour. Most of it, however, is outside not in the cave. We enjoyed the history and our tour guide was very knowledgeable.

Wikipedia: "A cave is a hollow place in the ground, specifically a natural space large enough for a human to enter. " This attraction is actually a "tunnel". Hand dug and an engineering marvel from the 1800s. There are stairs and the majority of the...More

Great time was had by all that took this tour. I would recommend taking a flashlight as it was a tad dark for me in spots. Ben did a great job. Lots of informative information. A very inexpensive tour.

We went on a cool day and a light jacket was needed inside and out so it's hard to say. It is a cave and it's damp with a bit of dripping water so you might want a light jacket.

The ride is fairly short. There's a lot of time spent on the history of the Erie Canal and, once in the cave, the blasting of the cave. Total is about 90 minutes or less.

I would call before just showing up, they do have many tours a day, but I would definitely call ahead of time to see what the availability is like.
