great family ride, especially for NYC recreational family bikes. The path is smooth, last stop on the Harlem Valley Metro North Train. About 45 or so to Millerton. Once there, there are 3 or 4 antique shops and two restaurants that are very good.

Many people also like to ride bikes there, but I prefer any one of the many low traffic roads in the area for riding my bike (with some hills, too). But this is a great place for running, and during the summer it stays fairly...More

We started a walk on the Rail Trail from here in Millerton. A nice trail, paved and in excellent condition. But my wife and I realized that, like on the D&R canal here in NJ, you have to be on a bike to cover more...More

This is your typical rail trail path - fairly level wide enough for single lane in each direction. The good news is that on a recent weekday, we ran into very few people! There were some pretty views, and we saw some wildlife including swans...More

A must for anyone with or without a car. To access without a car, take Metro North to Wassaic. The trail picks up right off the parking lot.

Hi all, planning to drive there & bring the bikes w/ us instead of taking the metro north train. Any suggestions where we should park the car ? 1-Preferably not too far from a town or village where we can grab a bite after our bike ride. 2- And the most scenic route to see the autumn foliage on bikes? Thank you!

You didnt mention when you were coming, but there is a bicycle rental at the Copake Falls entrance. It is off of Route 22. You can then bike north to Hillsdale or south to Millerton and beyound.
