I was there off season, and this was such a wonderful stretch of beach to sit and read, watch the waves, go on walks with my dog. I imagine in-season, it's a great spot to watch surfers and sun bathe. Plus, it's in a super...More

Take the trip to Shadmoor instead. It is friendly, interesting and FREE. We were very disappointed that we would have risked a $200USD ticket if we parked to go to Ditch Plains. But, I get they are trying to protect residents of the area....

The views from the park and the paths along the plains offer stunning ocean views. Bring a camera and a sweater, it does get windy.

This place has amazing views. We walked on the beach and up top and both are a must do in Montauk. You can either walk from the lighthouse or park closer by.

This beach is the mecca for surfers and paddle boarders. Difficulty in finding parking so get there early. There is an awesome food truck there so no need ot leave for lunch. Walking the trails along the bluff is another reason to go. Breath taking.

Ditch is a special place for me. My first time to montauk was Labor day 2008. I have returned to this same location because of the surf break and hospitality.

Wonderful beach off of the beaten path. small parking lot by permit in summer but it seems to be open to the public off season.

This beach is easy to get onto. Quiet. Draws a good crowd. Has showers, bathroom and a nice food truck. You will need a Town of East Hampton Parking Pass to park at the beach.

Yes Kevin, there is a lot adjacent to Ditch Plains which actually requires a Easthampton Permit, but I don't think you should have a problem this time of year [DEC.], but hay life is a gamble, so be guided, this is not a... More
