So everyone knows the great, but crowded southern shore. But if the weather is good, try out the northern side that's almost deserted. From Rt27 take the Old Tar Road, which rapidly becomes no more than a hunter's trail - but you can still drive...More

This is really one of the most beautiful beaches I can recall visiting. It's an endless stretch of white sand. My adult children and I visited on a sunny weekend. There were plenty of families and children enjoying the sand and the waves, but lots...More

This beach is fantastic, clean, huge expanse of fine white sand, clear water. There are many options in Montauk and surrounding areas for beach time but this is worth the $10. The beach is a short walk from parking, the beach has a nice long...More

Stayed from 6/9/17-6/11/17 at site G15. When we pulled up to the site you could see it was littered with garbage and food all around the perimeter of the cement slab and broken glass all around the picnic table on the slab. Didn't realize people...More

I loved the drive by the state park, , and was able to stop and take amazing pictures. But be careful with the signs , many spots do not allow parking or require a permit

I visited Hither Hills in May, so my wife and I could not go in the water. But just by looking and walking around the park I can only imagine myself going back in the summer. I can see this beach getting crowded.

You are correct. The service road is there but it's steep and rocky. In the end I preferred to bike along the highway and it was fine.
