Spectacular wide white sandy beach. Not crowded. Warm water and fine surf. Better than most California beaches.

Hither Hills campground is clean, well run and is just one dune away from an incredible stretch of beach. It's also conveniently located to town, Montauk Point and other nearby parks with great views and some cool hikes. The campground has plenty of clean bathrooms, with flush toilets, sinks and showers. There is also a general store that sells most... More

This would be our third time camping in Hither Hills and I am still excited about it. It's not your ordinary camping in the forest or what, it's a convenient camping. The bathrooms are big, convenient and very clean, well maintained. There is a playground good for kids; a convenient store which sells a variety of items for camping and... More

The location was great ... so close to the beach. The facilities were very good. Camp sites were not very private though. Swimming prohibited signs were surprising.

You wrote a review for Hither Hills State Park 21 minutes ago 5.0 star rating 4/17/2015 When I was a teenager I would walk the dunes at Hither Hills State Park. They would plant poison ivy everywhere to hold the sand from eroding. Being from Brooklyn, I didn't know anything about poison ivy. Until that summer.... My family in the... More

We tent camped at Hither Hills for 6 days the week after Labor Day. All 12 of us totally enjoyed our visit and I would definitely consider returning. To hear the ocean waves all night while falling asleep in your tent - awesome. The campground personnel were friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were clean. We were biking everyday and did... More

There is no way that the vacancies can fill in one minute on the weekends. The 50 vacancies that become available each Friday and Saturday are not revealed until 9am. You can't complete steps to the booking process without knowing which site you are and completing all the steps takes longer than a minute. This whole idea that everyone has... More

If your family gets a kick out of tumbling down dunes, this is a great spot! Access the hiking trails on the North side of Montauk as opposed to the South side, and you will find more park in its natural state. The trails are well marked and come out onto the walking dunes' buried forests. At the base are... More

We have been to Hither Hills in the past and always did tent camping which was wonderful. The campground is right over the dunes from the beach. This year we did something different. We rented a 5th wheel from rentmycamper.com it was great! The whole family enjoyed it.
