Having grown up on LI this was a favorite Sunday drive for us. The lighthouse is at the far tip of LI. The town is great and there are many places to stay. Just a wonderful way to spend a day or two.

Food, playgrounds, paths to beach and rocks. Not sure if an accessible path available. Undergoing repairs so was lighthouse was cordoned off but visible.

as if someone has to comment, walking on the edge of long island seemed like walking on the edge of the world. the surfers, the boats, the nature were to be never forgotten

I think you would be very unlikely to see seals now. The state parks have stopped offering seal watching tours for the year, which is a good indication that there really are no more seals to be seen this year. You are most... More
