Just stumbled across the hidden treasure and can't recommend it enough. We went during the maple syrup cooking event / pancake breakfast event and were floored by how great everything was. The trails were well marked and maintained. Talked at length with a great volunteer at the water lookout station and spotted two muskrats (one swam right under the platform... More

Cumming Nature Center has been a regular destination for my family-- we try to visit once per season. Check their website at the beginning of March to find out when Maple Sugaring Weekends are-- great fun! They host casual fun breakfast of pancakes and sausage with maple syrup (harvested from the site/area) and visitors can also do a nature walk... More

I had not been there in quite a while but recall the trails as beautiful and well maintained. I stopped by recently on a very wet day and spent time in the visitor center and found a wonderful display and even an art gallery. The single staff member at the time was quite helpful,

Great hiking/walking trails! They request a small donation to enter, but other than that is is free. There is a building when you enter with bathrooms. There are several trails, mostly level. Has wonderful views and you are free to take pictures!

I've been to Cumming Nature Center a number of times with a group of school children. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The visitor's center is lovely with great displays and plenty of bathrooms. The trails and woods are beautiful. I'm sure there would be lots of wildlife to view if you weren't with a noisy group of children.... More

Located just outside of Naples, NY, this 950 acre nature preserve is a great place to get away from things. They have several different trails, most going through some of the most beautiful, mixed forests that we've seen. Lots to do and see for kids as well - including great frogs at the beaver pond. Well worth a visit. The... More

The Cumming Nature Center, part of the Rochester Museum and Science Center, offers outdoor opportunities almost all year long. There are various maintained hiking paths for different abilities and ages. The friendly staff will be glad to answer questions as you get ready for your hikes. There is a Heated Visitor Center with displays of wildlife and artwork .Bathrooms are... More

We haven't been to Cummings Nature Center in a few years, and decided to spend a gorgeous spring day hiking the trails. It wasn't quite what we remembered. Everything seemed a bit ignored. The trails were missing some markers, we saw numerous broken drainage tiles throughout, some of the educational signs had been damaged, and some of the wooden walkways... More

The Cumming Nature Center is always a beautiful place to come and walk through the woods and view the nicely-arranged displays. However, I strongly encourage everyone to come to this facility during the two weeks in late March when they are actively harvesting the maple sap from the local sugar maple trees and boiling it down into syrup. It is... More
