Mohonk Preserve is the largest private nature preserve in New York. The Preserve protects 8,000 acres of the Shawangunk Ridge and inspires people to care for, enjoy, and explore the natural world. Preserve lands are open sunrise to sunset every day for hiking, climbing, biking, skiing, horseback riding, and nature study. A current membership or day pass is required to access the lands. Admission to the Visitor Center is always free.

Great place for hiking, sightseeing, biking, romantic getaway. There are wide variety of trails some of them will take you to the very top of the mountains. Breathless views.

We spent a weekend at the Mohonk Mountain House and did some hiking here. We hiked to the skytop. It was a nice hike with fall foliage. The trails are marked and easy to follow.More

It is fairly tight--but it's not so much a matter of fitting as it is maneuvering out. if you're hesitant have a companion go first to give you a hand.
