It's a wonderful white sandy beach, with blue waters and quite sea. The water temperature is always balanced, not extremely unpleasant warm. The sea in the extremes of the bay can be sufficient active to be used for wave surfing beginners. Wonderfully quite and safe!

A very nice beach, lovely to walk along and not very busy but that could all change with the amount of building going on. Water can be rough and the wind brisk, dogs congregate around the hotel sections but don't seem to bother other people, only other dogs!

Lovely to stroll along, clean clear water, some local dogs around doing what they want but appear well behaved generally.lovely watching locals with fish hosts and selling goods.

Very nice beach with crystal clear water. Waves of the ocean can be very rough. There are sunbeds to rent for 5 euro p day. Nice place to hang around. 1 neg. Point for us, there are a lot of stray dogs at the beach. (Although they are on the whole island).

Not only can you enjoy beautiful views and discover what the fisherman caught on that day but also it's a perfect spot for snorkeling. Take a dive into the water and discover hundreds of fish hiding in the shadow of the pier (just be careful not to get caught by a hook :-) )

The Pier at Santa Maria is buzzing with activity - could spend hours there watching local life Lots of small fishing boats landing their catches from tuna to sardines, moratorium eels, conger eels and a multitude of other fish ...Kids catching sardines with poles - landing one every few seconds. Loads of restraundpts shops

The beach is pretty small and the windy nature of the island governs that a sunbed is essential to avoid sand being blown into the face. The sand is very clean and fine and the water is particularly clear though.
