I just love it, just a few people there, not many tourists which was great to get to know the local culture. Lots of fisherman, And little boats and small beaches next to each other. Locals like to come and have a chat with you.

The beach of Tarrafal is one of the most beautifull spots on earth. White sand, blue water surrounded by beautifull green mountains. It is difficult to get there, but the effort is well worth it. I absolutely adore the friendlyness of the Capeverdian people. There...More

If you have a car and are out driving drive by and get out and see what is there but drive around the island there are many more nicer beaches.

Two nice beaches in town. One of them is a bit smaller than the other one. The big one gets really busy around sunset time with people bathing, hanging out, playing sports and just enjoying the sunset. There were a few restaurants around the area,...More

This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Santiago, clear sands, see through waters surrounded by a typical village with great places to eat. Also there's a lot of fishing activity one can be witness to. An excellent place to visit and contemplate nature.

Best place in Santiago! Relaxing, easy going, beautiful, clean, without any problem for tourists and locals and dogs. The famous Rosy -italian girl with the kiosk- knows quite a lot of things and people and souvenirs! If you visit Santiago, don't miss Tarrafal!

The beach is the best in Santiago island considering that all the others have black sand however pieces of glass can be found so wear some flip flop when walking. The wind can be really annoying as you can be covered in sand in 15...More

Sorry for my late reply. It is very safe to go however the sea can be dangerous for that age. Beware, it was so windy that we had enough of getting some sands all over us so we decided to go back to Praia and look for a... More
