I visited the Zanzibar Butterfly Centre on a rainy day. The caretaker was very friendly, he showed and explained all of the butterfly pupas (chrysalides) that they are taking care of in the reception area. Beautiful pupas (chrysalides) on display.

Not at all worth visiting and expensive to see dilapidated cages with butterflies in an unattractive environment.

This is a small, but well kept butterflygarden. You can enjoy several species. There is no restaurants around, so bring food and drinks.

The sanctuary is small but interesting and something to support as it involves the local villagers and brings an income and educates them about preserving nature.
