From the Byzantine Castle, you can take photographs of Oia as seen on many postcards. It is low season so you can find a spot on the castle to perch if you’d like to see the sunset. It was a great panoramic view of the...More

Wow, what a spot and what views from here! Although there are plenty of ocean-view spots all around this island, this is a fabulous photographer's spot for sure. There is also an old metal gate up there where you can leave a "lock of love"...More

We walked out to the 15th century Byzantine Castle Ruins during our short visit to Oia. As long as you’re mobile, it’s a fairly easy walk on a sloped pathway (there are steps too). While not much remains of the castle, you’ll be rewarded with...More

One of the spots that offers a great view of Santorini. We were lucky there weren't many people at the time we visited this place. Be mindful of your step, the edges aren't fenced/walled.

Byzantine castle ruins on a high hill, merit a visit, for the history of the castle and the amazing view around, overlooking Oia, the blue seaview, a splendour, land of harmony and magic moments.

A great place to take pictures of the beautiful Santorini blue waters and the city of Oia. Lots of people come here to watch the famous sunset over Oia, so it can get a bit crowded.

Worth a visit to the ruins as it’s within the market area of the marble walk/path and there are some great views/photo ops across the bay.. from there it’s 250 steps down to ammoudi bay.

This is an Oia must. The castle affords amazing views and photo opportunities. Best to go early to miss the cruise passengers or a few hours before sunset to claim your spot before the throngs of tourist buses arrive... Personally, I'd go early and watch...More

The castle ruins were a great place for pictures. At one spot there is a doorway and two windows that looks right out onto the sea which is just a perfect photo opportunity. We also saw a ton of people there for the sunset, but...More

Beautiful location, the old chapel and its surroundings are well preserved and give a goood idea of what the place looked like in medieval times.

Oia is northwest of the Island where the Byzantine Castle Ruins are, and Akrotiri is in the southeast and you need to drive to get there. Enjoy your trip!
