We have been going to Lapland for many years in different seasons. The owners and staff are friendly and happy to help. One person came over to show me how to start a fire in the wood burning stove. Though the snowpack wasn't great, thanks climate change, the trails were groomed as well as ever, though some expert trails were closed and the Lake was not frozen enough to be safely skied on. The tupa (cabin) was clean and well supplied.

This is our second stay at Lapland, just as great as the first one. I lead XC ski trips for the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club’s Ski Touring Section. This year, 7 of us traveled to Lapland from the Washington DC area in search of reliable snow. Lapland always delivers. We had 10-12” of base, groomed daily to meticulous standards, and enjoyed wonderful skiing. We even skied the lake trail at night and enjoyed the stars over the lake!

We stay in Latin farmhouse, the largest of the accommodations, which sleeps up to 10. I plan a full menu and bring food which we prepare in the filly-equipped kitchen.

Highlights, besides the skiing, were the genuine Finnish sauna, the complete rental and instruction shop, the wonderful wood stove, and a snow shoe expedition to the nearby Ferris Lake Wild Forest area.

We’ll be back next year, so reserve early.

I visited in the Spring and Summer in the past and now this Fall. This resort is in a peaceful and serene area. If you are looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is it. It helps me step back and re-energize. I am planning on experiencing the Winter with them.

We needed to get away. Lapland lake was perfect. The cabin was spacious, clean, and quiet. Lots of space between cabins. The trails were lovely and calm, and it is a short walk to a spur of the northville-lake placid trail, for those looking for something more strenuous. The lake was clean and clear, full of newts and little fish. We swam a lot. Others canoed. There is no cell service, and spotty WiFi. But the absence was healthy at this time.

Spent a pleasant morning at Lapland testing out some new snow shoes. The location is convenient to the Albany Capital District. They offer well groomed cross country ski trails and a couple of snow shoe trails. Staff (and all the other adventurers) were pleasant.

Awesome experience for cross country skiing, small tubing, snowshoeing and ice skating if the weather permitting. My whole family enjoyed one day of winter skiing and tubing. People who works there are are nice and helpful.

We came up to the Adirondacks because there has been almost no snow in southern New York, with the exception of the Catskills. The trails here are great, but $25 to cross-country ski is a little ridiculous! Perhaps this place caters to the people on Long Island who have no problem paying $35,000 for a wedding :) We will stick to blazing our own cross-country ski trails in the future, or pay $10 for the trails that are actually better, if there is enough snow, in Fahnstock State Park, Putnam County, NY.

Just back from four days of great skiing during problematic Feb. 2020. Trails were well-constructed, immaculately groomed, and solidly maintained. First two days were a low-ebb situation, but skiing conditions were still very impressive considering. Perfect skating lanes, very usable classic tracks. Third day was snow to ice to rain, but trail conditions stayed solid. Fourth day was ice rain back to snow and skiing conditions, while different, were still very good. I'm incredibly impressed by the dedication to maintenance and grooming. A good skier can cover most or all of the terrain in a day, but the layout and character mean that repetition is fine. Changing conditions meant we were always entertained.

Seven of us stayed in the Farmhouse (Lapin) and it was fine. Tupas are pretty down-home (think 70's ski house, not log-and-glass lodge) but comfortable. Wood stove, rockers, couches. We skied, shared meals, laughed, and had a great time. Wifi, while not guaranteed at the tupas, nonetheless reached ours.

The office/lodge/shop is well-equipped, has LOTS of rental gear, and a reasonable collection of boots and skis for sale. Staff is friendly, interested, and invested in the place. We got firewood and kindling delivered and snow removal in the morning. I highly recommend.

I, a beginner-intermediate skier
and my friend an expert skier had a beautiful refreshing stay at the new studio-Owl’s Nest. The studio is a -well-appointed place to stay. It has a new propane stove and nice view of the pond. Well-groomed trails for skiing and snowshoeing and great lake views. Kathy and Dave are super attentive and kind to all needs. If you want a memorable winter ( or summer/fall) in a Finnish style respite-its here...quiet, pine sweetness and awesome sauna every night!
