Took ferry several times between orient point and new london. Each time things went smoothly. Was able to go standby on two trips when we finished our business earlier than expected. Snack bar is pretty good. My son (17 yrs) really enjoyed the chicken tenders and fries. Large portions. Worth joining their frequent rider program. If you book far enough... More

Beautiful views, friendly staff. We arrived early for our scheduled trip back and the crew offered us a spot on the departing ferry right before ours for no extra charge. Took the smaller ferry in and larger on return. Definitely take larger ferry, there was much more space and food options.

We have taken this service many times over the years to connect from Long Island to New England. CSF operates frequent service year round. Summer is obviously a busier time. It's one of those things that remains a great convenience over the years- who WANTS to drive around the LI Sound through urban traffic jams? But this company has improved... More

We chose the ferry because we had to drive to Boston. It was worth every penny: very easy to get on, relaxing time and it saved us 2 hours if NY traffic jam. Recommended: make reservations in advance!

If you are staying on Long Island and want to drive over to Rhode Island or the Boston area, try taking the Cross Sound Ferry from Orient Point to New London, Conn. It is very easy to make reservations on line and the ride is so pleasant - much better than heading back into NYC and battling all the traffic.... More

Highly recommend both the ferry and the Sea Jet. Comfortable, beautiful ride, with food, dfrink and plenty of seating. Beats the heck out of NYC traffic. Only downside is the $$ to bring car along. If you can get a ride on the other side, it's definitely worth it!

We have taken two different trips on the Cross Sound Ferry for visiting the area's lighthouses. The first trip was taken in 2015, where we see the following lights: New London Harbor, Avery Point, New London Ledge, North Dumpling Island, Race Rock, Orient Point, and Little Gull. The company had just started doing the tours in 2015. This year (2016),... More

I travel this route a few times a year, and I'm always pleasantly surprised by the company's efficiency, affordability, and flexibility. Whenever I've been caught in traffic, I've been able to call and get on a later boat without any hassle or penalty. The ride is beautiful and relaxing.

An interesting adventure versus driving. Sign up for their customer loyalty program as we saved $40 with it. Good accommodations with dining area inside (get window seat early as they go fast). Cafe' was adequate with limited variety while the bow has a bar area. We rode MV Mary Ellen and amazed at the cargo load these ships manage. For... More
