A Step Back in Time

Lots of interesting history with the house and its contents. It's a walk back in time at a real family set in an unpretentious manner.

As local museum's go, this is a sparkling clean, non-musty museum in a quaint Queen Anne style house. Exhibits interestingly display nostalgic Peekskill. Ephemera blends in with the well-kept, period decor. Lovely, gleaming, original hardwood floors. Staff and members are welcoming, informative, and well versed in details of olde Peekskill life. The is a delightful place to visit solo, with... More

The best part of the museum is that it is located in a historic house that has been restored to its original look. It's a true house museum. You are in close proximity to all the items on display so you feel a part of the history. You also get a true sense of one of the beautiful old homes... More

Think only open for limited hours on weekend as volunteers tour you around in an old historic house. Floors of local history to Peekskill and naturally the valley, from the revolution to the civil war.

This is a small local museum with a lot of local history enclosed. I was surprised that the curator was quite sarcastic and not at all kid friendly.

A lot of Lincoln and Civil War memorabilia. It costs $5 for the tour. A great glimpse in to Peekskill's past.

After visiting Kathleens Tea Room we went to visit this museum. We were pleasantly surprised. it is full of interesting items. The guide was excellent gave a lot of history about the area and the contents of the museum. We spend a couple of hours there. It was well worth the 5.00 admission. Only open sat. 1-4 PM or by...
