The history of Eastman's Kodak is just the start of this museum. A complete documentation of the history of photography is joined by expertly curated galleries of photographic art & beautiful grounds surrounding the house that Eastman built. Must visit when you're in Rochester.

The Museum tells the story of photography and the history of Kodak and the man that that founded the company and how he lived life and left his mark in history.

The Eastman House is an incredibly interesting attraction for anyone interested in either photography or grand old mansions and gardens. If you've ever enjoyed touring the Mansions of Newport, RI, then you'll enjoy the Eastman House. And it comes with added bonus of a collection of cameras that spans virtually the entire history of photography, plus extensive photo galleries, a... More

You can view his ledgers, check book and all of the dynamic and interactive displays, they have an in-house movie theater that is very reasonable showing all of the Sean Connery James Bond films this month! The man that started Eastman Kodak George Eastman was a true "Renaissance Man" who was quite generous in his donations to various causes, charities... More

THE GEH as it is known here in the ROC city is a place that you can go over and over again and always learn something new. They change the exhibits up very frequently and offer all kinds of activities so that you can have a different experience every time you visit. Some of my favorites include the Spring flower... You will learn about George Eastman and his work. You will tour the photography museum and exhibits. A very nice and enjoyable time. However for the money, I wish they would tour more of the house rooms and show a movie with the tour.

Very interesting museum features the life and mansion of George Eastman. Took docent tours of grounds and of the house. Docents were outstanding. Grounds guide was 90 years old and knew George Eastman when he (the docent) was a child. Gave first-hand experiences from when Eastman was still alive. Could have spent the whole day at this interesting museum.

We were in Rochester to attend a performance at the Eastman School of Music later that evening. I had done a little research about Rochester and since it was early May, the thought of doing something outside was not inviting, but this museum looked interesting. I am by no stretch of the imagination a photographer, but I do like to... More

This is one of my favorite venues in Rochester. Not only is it pretty, but you are able to act like, and be treated like an adult. This is a carry in, carry out establishment. Being able to bring alcohol & food in to a concert is a real treat considering the money that is spent at other venues. This... More

Understand the magic of photography and the mind and life of the man who not only developed photography but also gave back to the people and city of Rochester. This is a must-see place to help young people understand that photography is an old science and existed long before the iPhone!
