I had fond memories of this museum as a kid growing up in Rochester. Came back for a visit and brought my kids (11 and 13). They had a blast. The museum has so many hands-on activities now that are really cool (highlights - the topo sand table and the Erie Canal lock) and very much engaged my kids. Some... More

The museum offered more diversity than I expected. The hands-on activities were super and the cultural displays were thorough. I was impressed with the Underground Railroad presentations - learned some fascinating history and it cleared up some of my misconceptions.

We are members and have season passes. We don't go as much as we'd like but this place is amazing. The museum is totally interactive and the kids can do everything. I could not begin to list everything they have. Def something for everyone!

The Rochester Museum & Science Center is a WONDERFUL place to learn all about almost anything in the history of man, the Earth, and lots more. they have 3-4 floors of great exhibits, many of which will involve "hands-on" time for your kids. It's a full day (or can be) of activity, PLUS there is a great planetarium right alongside... More

We have been to several after dark events. The latest was the Speakeasy Party. I have nothing but good things to say about the Museum. I love the changing exhibits and the Electricity Theater.

Our grandson needed to build an Indian Longhouse for a school project, so we headed to the museum with him to do some research. There are great exhibits on the second floor of ancient cultures locally and around the world. And to our surprise, there were actual Native Americans demonstrating crafts and giving us helpful information. Also, throughout the museum... More

Our 3 yr old loved it here and wants to go back already. We were thrilled that it had reciprocal admission with our local science centre where we are members so it was free to get in -huge bonus. There were exhibits for all ages here, and we were very impressed with the staff and the layout of the museum.... More

We attended a masquerade here and had a great time ! The whole museum was open for adults only after hours. They also hired a dj and had some food trucks outside. It was a great date night and i look foward to attending another one of their special after hour events.

Wife, daughter and I went to see the Dave Matthews laser light show this past Saturday. It was totally AWESOME! The show last 45 minutes. It is being shown in the planetarium. The slouched seats looking to to the ceiling and the lights were so very well done! Each month they do shows like this with different music, so Id... More

We've been here at busy times but visiting here at low season , mid week made a huge difference. Kids had a blast trying every station and enjoying their time. Nothing much to eat but there are several restaurants within short drive. Parking is free!

Hello, I'm so happy to hear that you had a good time during your last visit! I just want to clarify that there is a cafe on the lower level of the Museum open 10am–3pm if you're looking for more to eat during your next visit. Hope to see you soon, Hannah B. More
