This famed 350-acre racetrack features thoroughbred horseracing during its six-week season from late July through early September. Though one of the sport's premier events, the races often take second place to people-watching.

Love it. Labor Day is fun for kids. It is closing day. The track is like a time warp. Something from a century ago. Even if you aren't a huge horse racing fan the ambience is worth it

The race track is basically just a fun place to go and feel like you're experiencing an old time tradition type thing. There's a ton of people with a ton of money walking around in fancy clothes and fancy hats and paying enormous prices to...More

An American icon. As much of a place to be in 2017 as it was in 1863. First time visitors on their own should go midweek as weekend crowds can daunting.

Being at the track in August is almost like attending a fair. Bands are playing, stands sell goods and art, and there's plenty to eat and drink. Grab a picnic table with your friends and bring your own food if you prefer. AND if you...More

The historic race track has something for everyone. The updates to the facility itself are very smart and take away nothing from the history of the track. Whether you are a horse gambler or not, you will have a great time. Lots of food and...More

While there weren't any races on the track while we were there, we did see some horses around and back on the smaller track. The race course is beautiful and they've kept a lot of history in tact. I have family members who go to...More

We make the trip every year to this race course. It's my absolute favorite, I love how they embrace the history of the track but still keep it comfortable for all the visitors. Backyard is the perfect spot for enjoying the races and a picnic...More

Surely the most beautiful race course in the country. Attention to detail in looking after it is a lesson for us all. Lovely people too.

We glimpsed it as we were traveling around. Will make it a stop during track season. Easy to get to, lots of signs.

First I'll just say that I wish you luck with that. The gates will open at like 730am for the "picnic table dash" so I'd suggest you get there before then. I know people that will line up at the gate at 530am.
