Kids books upstairs, author signing preCovid, local items plus full array of what most book stores offer. What’s not to love. Can be a quick run in stop or sit and stay awhile.

This book store has an extensive selection of kids books. We ended up buying the kids five books and only spent $30. Nice old fashioned service and comfortable seating. Definitely worth checking out.

Whenever I am in downtown Saratoga, I try to stop in and at least browse. The staff are extremely helpful, the selection is good, and they occasionally have guest authors; Doris Kearns Goodwin for example. A terrific independent bookstore!

We annually go to Saratoga Springs for the track in the summer. However, I truly can't tell you what I look more forward to: the races or visiting this wonderfully eclectic bookshop. I think it is a photo finish!
This place is a much-needed oasis from the summer crowds and steamy August days. It's all what you think a bookstore should be,:with an attentive staff, a large selection of books on various subjects, a wonderful children's section, beautiful notecards and assortment of daily calendars, including my favorite, the Jeopardy 2020 edition which i scooped up. This is not just a place to shop and buy, but to also browse and read. For any biblophile who craves to hold a book in their hand and find a corner to sit and read, you know just what I mean.

Big bookstore with plenty to choose from. Lots of room even when a lot of people in the store so you can browse without being rushed and have people get in the way.

Under the attack from the Amazon monster, stores like this are becoming a rarity. Quite a large selection of retail priced books on all subjects, and some interesting other "gift" items a well. A large section for kids upstairs. Good, and friendly service.

Love the closed in feeling of this bookstore with its nooks and crannies. Upstairs for kids books-up front new releases. Helpful staff. Had a gift card and I was able to find two paperbacks from the author I wanted for an upcoming trip. They also have book signing and speaker events.

Northshire has an enormous amount of books. I am amazed whenever I visit of how much variety this store has. The children’s section is incredible- still the best I’ve ever seen- better than chain bookstores that I have visited.

Such a treat in the age of Amazon. Lots of books, magazines, and interesting items and the staff is always helpful. We usually stop more than once when we're in town.

Previous reviewer has it right - great ambiance and atmosphere, as tourists we only have a couple bookstores left like this in our hometown. Found everything I was searching for, as did my husband. You can tell they cater to children and the older baby boomers. You don't get a discount, but if you live there, I think they have a rewards program for customers. Visit for yourself, if you love books, you will feel right at home here. great staff too.
