A lovely preserve right outside of Saugerties town. It offers three short, gentle hikes of .5 to .9 miles with limited elevation changes that guide you through beautiful woods, pass by a small waterfall, and by the Hudson river, with beautiful views. Can be done...More

This lovely place was more of a pleasant walk than a hike. Nonetheless, it was very peaceful and relaxing. We did all the trails. The trail along the river has a narrow path versus the main trail you start off on. The small little falls...More

Nice little hike through the woods and down by the water. Nice little waterfall on one of the trails. Enjoyed everything about it!

This trail is beautiful and varied - in the woods and right along the river. We saw pileated woodpeckers, a heron and lots of scrambling chipmonks...all while watching the sun rise.

The hike to the water was easy and soothing- just to listen to the lapping of the water and no other noise. Secluded, has some seating along the way to just sit and relax.

Not to hard but great views of the Hudson River and at least two small water falls. Nice walk with the family and pets, parking is good and a nice level start to the hike to get you started, definitely would recommend this hidden gem.

Bottom Line: Fun and relatively short hike. Details: We visited on a Friday in early September. The preserve is oddly located as you have to drive through a residential neighborhood and up a seemingly one way stretch of road to get to. The parking area...More

This is a fairly easy hike on a well-maintained trail that skirts the Hudson River. We were disappointed that the river didn't/doesn't look more impressive as there is quite a bit of duckweed growing in the river that takes away from its majesty. There are...More

This is a bucolic preserve that offers easy walks through woodland and then offers great views of the majestic Hudson River. Family and pet friendly.

Take 9w north to saugerties. Turn right at Bishops gate development. Follow the road to the Dominican sisters convention center. You will see the parking area and an information sign. Hope that helps!
