The name itself has something that remember you how beautiful is this waterfall. While visiting the west fjords, this is a must see. You'll not be able to understand how big is this waterfall until you're not arrived under it. From the parking an easy...More

The local geology of layers of lava flows creates a multi-tier waterfall effect. The water flow is spread out, enhancing the perceived volume of flow.

We could see the falls from far away, but getting close to them truly shows you their majesty. It is an easy, but rocky, walked to the top. We were lucky enough to be there on a cloudless day. Try to get there before the...More

This multi-level waterfall is stunning. You can climb an uneven and rocky path up to the highest fall or stay at the bottom and use your telephoto lens on your camera. Either way, this is a magnificent waterfall.

This is an amazing waterfall located in the beautiful Westfjords. It's really easy to find, you can't miss it. If you're lucky it's a sunny day, which makes it even more beautiful. It is a very easy walk and you can get really close to...More

Well off the beaten track and all the better for it. Lovely and quiet - just a few people there mid-summer. Dynjandi is my favourite waterfall so far - and I've been to Iceland many times. If you camping...plan to stay here overnight.

We used an Iceland based company to book this tour and they used a local operator (same as used by the cruise lines). It is well worth the time and money - you will pay far less using local services vs cruise line and get...More

This was a stop on our tour of the Westfjords. This waterfall is absolutely beautiful. You start seeing it many miles away, and the different perspectives from the road and on the hike up are great fun. The climb up is not bad, but there...More

Dynjandi is a lovely Westfjords waterfall. There are actually several waterfalls here. You hike up the hill, and Dynjandi is the largest waterfall at the top. It is memorable as the water flows less powerfully than many other waterfalls we saw in Iceland, but the...More

There are restrooms at Dynjandi (they ask a little fee, if you need to use them). Starting a few years ago, more and more attractions in Iceland have restrooms close by.

If you go slowly and depending on the time of year, you'd probably make it, albeit very slowly. I'd definitely get gravel insurance. A slightly larger car would make the going a lot easier.
