How many times have we come here to enjoy the view of the Taughannock Falls, located at Trumansburg, nearby Ithaca. Sadly I had never noticed the trail that led down the escarpment. Last fall we ventured on that trail. There are two views to admire...More

We pulled off the road to quickly take a look, there is a convenient overlook spot off of the highway. The falls are spectacular, massive and impressive. Definitely worth stopping

A truly beautiful waterfall, which as I understand it, Taughannock Falls are actually higher than Niagara Falls. Of course, not nearly as wide or loud! A decent hike down to the base of the falls...well worth it. The view of the falls is no less...More

The walk from our Inn was easy and most pleasant about an hour round trip. The falls are lovely and easy to access views.

I've walked the rim of this park and down the center to the huge scenic waterfall. I have to say the 2nd was my favorite. It is a great place to walk and take photos. Loved it.

Don't miss this park if visiting the Ithaca/Cuyaga Lake area. Did the falls walk during the morning, so peaceful. Well maintained trail. Easy walk makes it good for families of all ages.

We first looked at the falls from the overlook above the falls. It is beautiful. The overlook is a good place to just drive up, and get out of the car, and look at the falls. Many years ago we walked the paths to the...More

We visited this park while taking a scenic drive around the lake. We were a little disappointed that the hike to the lower viewing area was closed. The falls were magnificent and beautiful.

Bring your trekking polls and enjoy the hike. Well used by many and the falls are quite spectacular. Bring the dog along as they are allowed on trails. No charge to see the falls as opposed to $8.00 a car for the full monty. Unless...More

We will be camping here in a couple of weeks. We enjoy walking through the waters in the gorge. Will we be able to do so?!

As others have said, we have had a lot of rain so there is a lot of water rushing through the gorge. I don't think walking through the water is either safe or allowed.
With the flooding in the area will we have a problem with roads? Will we be able to walk the base on Monday 4/10/17

No problems at all! A tiny bit muddy in some areas but the roads are all clear. Perfect time to go because of the extra water!
