Challenging/Rewarding Trail
Sep 2019 • Solo
Many of the trails in the Adirondack Park are similar. Rocks and high roots, all making it necessary to nbn watch every step. Would classify this trail as moderate light. Some steep sections, but just not ridiculous. Did this trail a week ago so can't remember details. Definitely a nice hike. Reccomend highly.

Worth the Effort of the Hike
Aug 2019
My wife and I started the Tupper Lake Triad by hiking the Coney Mountain Trail. It took us about an hour to get to the top of the mountain. It is not a difficult hike, but I would recommend good hiking boots. I am very overweight and 59 years old and was able to make it to the top. People who are in better shape probably will take half the time. Once at the top, the views are gorgeous. Plan to time just to sit and enjoy the views. If it is a rainy day, the trail will be slippery in spots. Hiking poles will be helpful but not required. We saw several families with dogs and younger children. I highly recommend making the trek if you are in the area

Great Hiking Mountain
Aug 2019 • Family
Our family found this mountain hike while camping in the area. With four of us, including 2 teens, the hike took approximately 2 hours including 20 minutes at the summit for pictures. It was relatively easy most of the way. We were slightly winded reaching the summit, but felt immensely satisfied with the effort. This trip renewed our passion to scale as many mountains in the ADK as we can.

Second Hike
Jul 2019 • Friends
My hiking partner and I made this our second climb of the day. It was a bit hot and humid, and seemed longer than the reported distance. The guide said that this was an intermediate level family hike. While many families with young children were on the trail, the rocks would have been too much for me to haul a toddler on my back. The views from the summit are stunning and well worth the effort. Still an overall easy hike.

Lovely 360 Views
Jul 2019 • Family
Coney is an easy climb with great rewards. One has a clear, 360-degree view from the top. Because it’s an easy hike and good for families, I’ve many as 15 people at the top. So ... if you want miss the “crowds,” I suggest going early in the morning.

Great hike up to a beautiful view of the area from all directions. The only annoying thing was the mosquito's buzzing my head.

Great hike for all levels... beautiful views!

About a 1 mile hike to the top. It took us about 1 hour to reach the summit...we are in our late 50s and don't hike regularly. Bring a water bottle. Great to chat with AmeriCorps workers performing trail work on the path. Enjoy hiking through the beautiful woods. When you start to huff and puff.... take a break, drink some water and enjoy the journey! We knew we were almost at the top when we heard the wind starting to gust. Lots of rocky outcroppings to sit and relax when you reach the top. It was an overcast day, we were fortunate to have outstanding views in all directions, with just a bit of fog. It is so worth it when you reach the top. Going down was easy as pie. A great hike for all ages!

At the peak of fall color, just awesome 360 views. Short hike...about a mile each way I think. Do it!

Great beginner hike
Oct 2018 • Family
We climbed Coney Mt. on an overcast day and were disappointed with the views at the top. It took us (beginner hiker in group) about 45 minutes to get to the top. Near the top are a few rocks to climb, but nothing unmanageable. On a clear day, it must be beautiful.
