The reef is just stunning, we snorkeled there every day when we stayed at andBeyond Benguerra. We saw turtles every snorkle and sometimes even 2-3 of them in one go, not to mention the black tips, electric stingray, blue spotted stingray, huge moray eels, crocodile fish, big octopus but what was most impressive were the nice and intact corals.

We had a brilliant 2-hour trip here while we were staying at Anantara. On the way to the reef we were told to look out for Dugong's - the next second the skipper spots one and we spent 5 minutes watching it, what an experience. The snorkelling at Two Mile was less protected than Paradise Island but they had the best corral we'd ever seen with massive brain-corral, fan-corral, moray eels and lots and lots of tropical fish. Back on the boat and heading back to Pansy island, we found a pod of bottle-nose Dolphin, no problem for our skipper who turned the boat around so two of our party could swim with them.

We snorkeled this reef twice and I was surprised at how healthy the coral was , and the amount of fish. Having snorkelled in The Maldives countless times, I can say that more variety in the Maldives with way more sharks and turtles etc, BUT this Two Mile Reef is very pretty and you can on a good day see eels, and a few rays. I was impressed

What an absolutely outstanding experience! I took my two seven year olds snorkelling and it was the most memorable part of my 16 days in the archipelago. The beautiful corals in all their colours, the starfish and the many, many reef fish in all shapes and colours. I will remember this experience for many years to come.

It pretty much goes without saying that if you go to a reef in bazaruto then it’ll be amazing. All manners of fish, turtles and beautiful coral formations make this a must visit area. This combined with the opportunity to visit pansy island and witness the striking colours of the sea and the many sandbars made this one of our favourite trips out from our resort

A very safe snorkeling reef within the Bazaruto Archipelago National Park, which actually lies 2 nm offshore!!!! Years of unregulated tourism, crown-of-thorns starfish outbrakes, poaching and bleaching almost killed it, but the reef is back!!! Excellent coral growth, very healthy fish life and the park is working hard to regulate and patrol it with visible results.

Worth a visit for sure, but please don't touch/break/remove any corals!

It took a couple of hours sailing by dhow to get to the reef. The water was fairly calm though and the sun was shining. So it was a pleasant enough trip. We were dropped into the water over a series of coral 'gardens'. The clarity of the water was very good and because the water was not particularly deep we could get good fish sightings just floating on the surface of the sea. The keener ones in the group duck dived below the surface is some of the deeper areas. There was a huge variety of fish and some fairly large schools of fish. Also the coral, which is in very good condition, provided a good show of colour in its own right.
We then sailed on to one of the small islands nearby, where we clambered up a rather large sand dune, before running down the other side back to the beach and lunch.
A very enjoyable day out.

Truly African experience out there and amazing beaches combined with few tourists wonderful seafood and happy people. The draw back is when travelling around you must be diligent with the police and army who often take bribes to allow you to pass through road blocks on your journey. When approached I would say we had limited funds but could arrange for the British Embassy to contact them and pay any fines or expenses as we were staying as guests of diplomats and UK government. Usually worked if all else fails talk about football most support team Manchester United.
