This is an opportunity to see 17th, 18th, 19th century views of life. A mansion, a school house, log cabin and barn full of horse carriages and antique car. A wonderful potpourri of early America. One suggestion is to have railings at the school house...More

The house has interesting gardens and displays inside. Lots of local history and the one room school house is good...the staff was rude and seemed most uninterested in answering our questions. Really?? Isn't that what it is about? Could be a good site, but rudeness...More

I imagine this is one of the few waterwheel exhibits you will ever see. Also liked the old printing press and print.

Stepped in, saw the admission charge, and stepped right back out again. Sorry, not worth the price of admission....

It was a quaint place to visit. But we expected more. It had some interesting items to see, but we didn't think it was worth the admission price of $5 each. We wouldn't visit it again.

The historical society is a complex of buildings including a log cabin, little pink (not red) schoolhouse, car & carriage bar, and Victorian mansion. The mansion was bequeathed directly by the original family, so it has original furnishings, and has been restored with old photographs...More

A good place to visit if you are interested in the history of the north country. The garden is beautiful. Look for their house tour and ice cream social during the summer.

They change the exhibits freq., have tours, fun days with hands on exhibits and a nice shop full of odds and ends.
