The peace Memorial is a fine building (style wise, I think I'd class it colonial Art Deco), intended to commemorate the end of the First World War (that definitely touched Zanzibar). However, nothing is left from the building's original contents. From other reviews I find that the collection changes quite often. During my visit, the subject was crafts, with a nice... More

This is a small museum/exhibition of local artifacts, old tools, few paintings etc. Everything is written in English and was informative in a fairly limited way. The entrance fee included entrance to the next door natural history museum. By western standards this was a pretty depressing dusty collection of stuffed animals and old bones! There was quite a big collection... More

The building is absolutely beautiful and if you are walking by it is worth it to check out the Peace Memorial Museum. However, when we were here June 2015 it was definitely a work in progress. Hopefully, the exhibits will become more organised in the future. Overall, don't go out of your way to go, but if you are in... More

This small building is opposite Stonetown's hospital and we found serenity and cool inside compared to the jostling local roadway. Excellent layout of local Arts and Crafts.

Never been inside but it is truly a beautiful building to walk around - the architecture is amazingly beautiful, in my view ! Worth a short walk in that area and also get to see the High Courts & Mnazi Moja Hospital which is an interesting take on Art Deco architecture. It would be great if the road passed state... More

This should be a place to find the collection of Zanzibar culture. But with only 10 minutes walk around inside you'll bored. there's a lot of display congested on one area with less word to explain. No guider to guide you through the museum, just you are left alone to wonder with no one to ask question about anything displayed.... More

Nothing much to see and very disappointing. Looks like they put stuff just for the sake of it and all meaningless.

Very nice looking on the outside, but the tour would probably take like 5 minutes because there is very little to see....
