Our first visit to the gardens. What beautiful flowers and plants. Well worth a visit to Tresco. The red squirrels were a delight and the strange birds in parts of the garden.

I haven't visited the gardens for a number of years but on my return I was not disappointed. They are even more beautiful than I remember. We even saw the lovely red squirrels. I would definitely recommend a visit to the gardens. The colours and...More

The gardens and Valhalla museum are quite interesting. Sadly the cafe stopped serving "hot" food at 2PM on the Sunday we went there. Even at 2.05 they refused to supply anything savoury. There were some cakes and sandwiches, but that was it. The gardens have...More

We were really looking forward to visiting the gardens and they didn't disappoint. The Valhalla museum was small but really interesting as you get to find out more about the shipwrecks. The gardens are just beautiful - make sure you get there in plenty of...More

What a wonderful garden. So beautifully planned and with a huge variety of tropical and sub tropical plants flourishing in the warm climate of the Scilly Isles. The paths lead you found to all the areas with surprises at every turn.

We were not able to do the whole area but what we did see was really spectacular. At least we are encouraged to return. The weather was great, which is a bonus.

It had long been a dream to visit the sub tropical Abbey Gardens and they lived up to expectations. Fantastic collection of tender plants from around the world in full glorious colour. The cafe was good too.

So many exotic plants and we were lucky enough to have 20 minutes with Andrew, the head gardener, who was there on his day off. Well worth spending a couple of hours wandering round the different parts of the garden. Proteas particularly impressive. Even the...More

We went over to Tresco for the day last week while being in Cornwall for the week. It was a hot day thank goodness because the sea was as calm as a pond. It can get rough so beware! The journey is 2 and 3/4hrs...More

This was just as I remembered, very peaceful and beautiful. It was the first time everybody with me had been and they all thought it was lovely.

I am not sure about any of this as we stayed in St Marys. when you land in St Marys there are plenty of boards up detailing boat trips etc.

We were there in August and learned that we are probably no gardening people. We spent about the same amount of time in the garden as we did at the Valhalla museum.

Hi Oldpigsqueal, The red squirrels tend to stay around the garden but you do sometimes see them near the garden entrance and around the Garden Cafe... Even if you're not a plant fan, the Garden is still well worth a visit... More
